Larapinta

Larapinta, known more commonly by its Western name, the Finke River, is the oldest river in the world, running through the heart of Central Australia. Stretching over 750 kilometres, Indigenous clans of Central Australia have relied on the river for food, water, comfort and travel for generations upon generations. Larapinta’s past, present and future is a story about culture, environment, art, climate change, totems, songlines and, of course, history. Talia Liddle, a young Arrernte and Luritja woman, travels through the majestic Central Australian outback along Larapinta, taking viewers on an intimate and engaging journey where she meets with people who call Larapinta home, as well as scientists, rangers, Traditional Owners, artists, historians, archaeologists and palaeontologists – all of whom give her unique insights and stories of this once mighty river. The story of Larapinta is more than just a story about a river, it is the story of Central Australia.

Socially Shaped

The last fifteen years, social media has changed the way we meet, communicate, shop, vote – and in many cases – think. The world has gone through an enormous technological transformation. Social media platforms are today the worlds biggest trendsetters and more and more of our lives are spent online.

Socially Shaped explores how social media influences young people and the consequences it has on their mental health. We shine a light on a few of these like cyberbullying, Insta Face, dangerous trends, social media in politics, and social media gurus.

With new ways of communicating and influencing, the world is facing modern problems that have yet to be solved.

Everest for Hambo

Everest for Hambo is an entirely different rendition of the Everest journey, shaped by the warmth and purpose of the people climbing it.

The film’s narrative is shaped by the escapades of Julian Evans, Sean James, Stuart Kershaw, Yuri Kruglov and their patron ‘Hambo’, whose own story and resilience parallels that of the climbers. Matt Hampson, ‘Hambo’, is an ex England rugby player who suffered an accident whilst training for England that left him paralysed from the neck down. Matt has since gone on to raise money to build a rehabilitation centre which helps other young people with spinal injuries.

Our four climbers are unified in their clarity of purpose – to climb the world’s highest mountain with stoicism, good humour and compassion, raising money for their friend and inspiration.
