In this series on China the Dutch photographer Ruben Terlou travels along the banks of the long Yangtze River. A series about progress and stagnation, preservation and innovation. In short: about contrasts in China.
China is one of the largest world powers, but for outsiders it hardly has a face. Photographer Ruben Terlou brings this into focus during a journey along China’s largest river, the Yangtze.
Terlou starts in the metropolis of Shanghai and travels westward up the river with the most diverse means of transport, passing large cities like Nanjing, Wuhan and Chongqing, until he gets closer and closer to Tibet and the source of the Yangtze.
